Valentine's Day

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner and if you’re stumped on what to do or what to get your sweetheart, don’t sweat it; Tourism Burlington has got you covered!

It never hurts to start the evening out with a fabulous meal and lucky for you, many downtown restaurants are offering Valentine’s Menus, most of them available from February 11th to 14th. In addition to their regular menus, Downtown Bistro is offering a 3 course meal for $110 per couple,  La Costa is offering Dinner for 2 with a sharable platter as an appetizer; at Rude Native, you can enjoy a romantic dinner by candlelight and the ladies leave with something special. Red Canoe Bistro is offering an exclusive 5 course tasting menu themed with the “Foods of Love” which is sure to tantalize your taste buds. Spencer's at the Waterfront offers dinner with breathtaking views of Burlington’s waterfront. Both Pepperwood Bistro and SB Prime are offering feature menus for the evening of Valentine’s Day so be sure to call and make your reservations as seating is limited for all these great dining options. If dinner isn’t something high on your list, take them out for lunch at Coffee Culture with a great selection of soups, salads and sandwiches. You could also give your sweetie a rain-check and try out A Taste of Burlington running from February 21st to March 13th; A dining event offering a prix fixe menu to 24 of Burlington’s hottest restaurants with a chance to win a 7 day/6 night luxury vacation getaway for 2 to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
In addition to an incredible dinner, you could appeal to their sweet tooth; Sweetness Bakery has a great selection of scrumptious cupcakes including their Red Velvet cupcake with a decadent Cream Cheese icing. Kindfood offers gluten free, organic and vegan baking which turns out delectable cupcakes, cakes, cookies, muffin and brownies which you wouldn’t know are actually good for you!

As with anything to do in Burlington, it’s great to take it outside or keep close to nature, on now at the Royal Botanical Gardens is the "Glass under Glass" Exhibit inside the Mediterranean Garden which is the perfect place for a picnic followed by their Romance in Bloom: Valentine's Dance. For some fun ice skating outdoors and hiking on snow covered trails, visit Bronte Creek Provincial Park. For the more adventurous ones, Glen Eden is great for skiing and snowboarding on Niagara’s Escarpment. You can watch the waves splash onto the walkway down at The Waterfront at Downtown Burlington where you can also skate from 10am to 10pm on the Rotary Centennial Pond.
