Friday September 3 – The first night of Canada’s Largest Ribfest (in beautiful Burlington) was awesome with the sun finally breaking out and the smell of pork ribs and spicy sauces mixed with aromas from the Tiny Tim donuts, and kettle corn! We had friends join us from Mississauga – it is our annual end of summer feast. We tried a variety of racks and shared among the group and have become quite the rib connoisseurs (or so we think). A messy time was had by all while enjoying the music and gazing over the lake which was like glass!
After our first course we headed to the new Gelato place – Crema Di Gelato on Lakeshore Rd. with so many selections it took me 10 minutes to choose. We hit it at the right time as there were no lineups. Among the 8 of us we tried a good many of the flavours – chocolate orange was my fav!
Then we headed up to our friends condo which has a roof access and checked out the park and the lake from that vantage point – what a great way to see the event and fireworks. I got some great photos which we will add to the website (and below). A memorable night for the last long weekend of the summer. We can’t wait to do it all again next year.
Roof top view!
