Today was a real culinary experience in Burlington. First of all, our friend Angelo came in today with a sweet treat from his store Mrs. B’s Gifthouse. He was delivering biscotti that we give as a welcome to Burlington gift to major conference attendees. He also brought samples as an extra treat that were chocolate covered! They were decadent and so great when we needed that mid afternoon chocolate fix.

Then I headed out to the Chamber’s Business After 5 Restaurant Showcase held at the Holiday Inn and Conference Centre where a number of dining and beverage establishments were showcasing their menus. I tried Alloro’s (new restaurant at Holiday Inn) chicken parm (which was very tender with the just right amount of spices) and Canyon Creek’s garlic smashed potatoes – yum! Other restaurants participating were Red Canoe Bisto with chef Tobias featuring locally grown products, and Jack Astor’s. John from Better Bitters our local brewery and Stoney Ridge Estate Winery provided the liquid refreshments.
